We really enjoyed our coffee tasting experience lead by Laura and AJ. We now have much more of an appreciation for the benefits of freshly roasted coffee and the various methods of preparation. We will definitely be returning to Laura and AJ’s cafe (Brew Tulum) for our coffee whenever we are in Tulum. I highly recommend this coffee tasting experience, regardless of your knowledge of coffee. We really enjoyed our morning with Laura. Even if you’re a casual coffee drinker this experience opens your eyes to the way fresh coffee should taste. We were able to taste test multiple roasts and ways of prepping the coffee. Laura is very knowledgeable and we learned so much. What a phenomenal experience! My love for drinking good coffee (particularly while traveling) led to increased curiosity concerning how a delicious cup of java is made. This experience provided that and more. Laura offered her wealth of knowledge from the planting, harvesting, processing, and brewing of coffee. I left feeling more empowered to create the coffee drinking experiences I’ve loved from my travels at home (i.e. just purchase my first burr grinder!) Do not skip this experience!!Amazing coffee and team! HIGHLY recommend. I’m studying to be a sommelier and was wildly impressed with Laura’s knowledge, level of engagement, approachability, and the coffee itself. The tasting did not feel scripted, though it was structured, and Laura was at ease answering questions and making the experience incredibly interactive and dynamic (like any good tasting should be!). Best of all, when I was unable to attend one of the scheduled tastings, Laura set up a whole new time for me. Laura’s partner (forgive me, I’m blanking on his name) brewed seven incredible coffees for us in a variety of methods, all of which he was eager to show me. Having seconds and thirds of any coffee I liked and trying them at a variety of temperatures was encouraged. I can’t stress enough how informative and fun this was! Beachside, beautiful setting, informative team, and delicious coffee that was unlike any others I had tried. I’m looking forward to a whole new world of coffee experiences ahead of me.
